Expensive Checkout: iPhone Stolen at Darien Library

Leaving an iPhone on the counter as she checked-out some books at the Darien Library led to the theft of the phone, according to Darien police.

Leaving an iPhone on the counter in the lobby last Tuesday turned out to be a $400 mistake for the owner, after the phone vanished.

The owner reported missing the phone at 6:13 p.m. on June 5 to , according to the department.

The owner put the phone on a counter as she checked out books, then walked outside, where she realized she didn't have the phone with her. She walked back to the counter, but was too late.
