Fire Log: Iron Causes Smoke Scare, Gas Odors Abound
Darien firefighters also respond to three motor vehicle accidents.

Monday, June 7
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY: The Darien Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident/injury at 285 Brookside Road around 11:01 p.m.

Tuesday, June 8
SMOKE SCARE: Around 10:09 p.m., the Noroton Fire Department went to the scene of a reported smoke scare at 6 Victory Drive. Once there, firefighters determined the call to be unfounded.

Wednesday, June 9
GAS ODOR: A report of a gas odor brought Noroton Heights Fire to 42 Fairfield Avenue around 12:48 p.m. Firefighters traced the cause to a slight amount of oil spilled in the basement of the residence.
Thursday, June 10
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY: The Darien Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident/injury on Post Road at the Norwalk city line around 9:47 p.m.
Friday, June 11
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY: Around 11:59 p.m., a report of a motor vehicle accident/injury brought the Darien Fire Department to I-95 south between exits 11 and 12.
Saturday, June 12
EMS ASSIST: Around 10:22 a.m., the Darien Fire Department went to I-95 at exit 11 to assist EMS personnel with a woman experiencing chest pains.
GAS ODOR: A report of a gas odor around 5:51 p.m. brought both the Darien Fire Department and Noroton Heights Fire to I-95 north at exit 10. Nothing unusual was found at that location, however.
ALARM ACTIVATION: Noroton Heights Fire responded to an alarm activation at 20 Horseshoe Road around 9:47 p.m. Firefighters determined that heat emanating from an iron had triggered the alert.
Sunday, June 13
GAS ODOR: The Darien Fire Department went to the scene of a reported gas odor at 97 Raymond Street around 11:02 a.m, but frefighters were unable to locate anything unusual once on the scene.
GAS ODOR: Around 1:45 p.m., Noroton Heights Fire responded to a report of a gas odor at 24 Edmond Street. The cause was traced to a possible problem with the residence's gas-heated boiler.
