In November of 2013 the Darien Police Department investigated a residential burglary on West Ave. in which an excess of $20,000 of gold jewelry and coins was taken.

Through investigation it has been determined that Dirk C. Lloyd, [36 years old] of 68 Melrose Ave. Bridgeport, is the suspect in this burglary. The Darien Police Department has since secured an arrest warrant for Lloyd for Burglary 3rd Degree and Larceny 1st Degree.

In early February, Lloyd was apprehended by the Miami Beach, FL Police Department as a fugitive from justice and was subsequently extradited to New York.

Currently Lloyd is in custody in New York City for several burglaries committed in Nassau County and Queens, NY.

The burglary that Lloyd committed in Darien matches a pattern of dozens of burglaries that have occurred not only all over Fairfield County, but also in New York.
