Man Charged With Writing Bad Check

A Stamford man is arrested on a charge he wrote a check with insufficient funds to a Darien heating oil delivery company.

A Stamford man, given numerous opportunities to pay a $540 bill for oil deliveries after his original check bounced, was arrested on July 27 on a charge of larceny, said.

Police gave this account of the matter:

On March 30, Frank Angelo, 54, of 46 Glendale Cir., Stamford, wrote the check to Sound Energy, a Darien heting oil delivery company. After Angelo continued to refuse to pay the bill, Darien police applied for and received an arrest warrant for him.

On Friday, July 27, Angelo was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport. There he was detained on the Darien arrest warrant, arrested and taken to Darien Police headquarters, where he was processed for the arrest. He was released on a written promise to appear Monday, Aug. 6, in state Superior Court in Stamford.
