Police: 15-Year-Old Threw His Mother Against a Wall

A teenage boy's mother was hurt but didn't require hospitalization Sunday after her son fought with her.

A 15-year-old threw his mother against a wall when an argument about his use of a cell phone escalated into violence on Sunday, police said.

The mother's elbow and back were hurt in the incident at the family home on the northern part of Hoyt Street, but she didn't require hospital treatment, police said.

The boy was charged with third-degree assault and referred to juvenile court in Stamford, where he is scheduled to appear Feb. 19.
