Police: Can of Nuts & Bolts Thrown in Domestic Dispute

Police said a man threw a can of nuts and bolts at his mother's boyfriend in the home they share on Mansfield Avenue; both men were charged with disorderly conduct.

A verbal argument ended up with a 22-year-old man throwing a can of nuts and bolts at the 52-year-old boyfriend of his mother, nearly hitting him in the head and breaking a nearby window, police said.

Police later charged both men with disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred at about 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the home where both men live on Mansfield Avenue, according to police. After he threw the can, the younger man left the residence, police said.

After the incident, police applied for and were granted arrest warrants. Both men turned themselves in at Darien Police Headquarters on Saturday, Dec. 1, after they were informed of the warrants.

The older man was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on Monday. The younger man was released on a $500 bond and given the same court and court date.
