Police: Expect Delays Along ITPMAN Swim.Run Route

The race steps off from Weed Beach Saturday morning and runs through neighboring streets.

Police are warning motorists to expect traffic delays in town this Saturday due to the Darien Sport Shop ITPMAN Swim.Run

The race kicks off at Weed Beach at 7 a.m. with a half mile swim, followed by a five mile run around neighboring streets at 8 a.m. The event is set to wind down by 11 a.m.

Proceeds from the race go to the ITP Foundation, which helps children with a rare bleeding disorder known as immune thrombocytopenic purpura.

Runners will proceed along Nearwater Lane, Post Road, Rings End Road, Pear Tree Point Road, and Long Neck Point Road before returning to Weed Beach.

Officers will be positioned along the race route to direct traffic, police said, but delays are still likely.

Nearwater Lane, Rings End Road, and Post Road between Nearwater and Rings End will be posted "no parking" zones during the event.
