Police: I-95 Swerving Leads to Stop, DUI Arrest

After a police officer saw a man swerving on Interstate 95, the vehicle was stopped on the exit ramp near Post Road and the intoxicated driver failed field sobriety tests, police said.

After seeing his car swerve on Interstate 95 on Sunday, a police officer stopped a 42-year-old man on the northbound Exit 11 ramp and later determined he was intoxicated, according to police reports.

Darien police gave this account of the incident:

While a police officer was driving north on Interstate 95 near Exit 11, he saw a 2003 Ford Focus swerving in its lane and passing vehicles on the exit ramp on the right side.

The officer stopped the car on the exit ramp near the Post Road. The driver, Marisol Dominguez of Trumbull failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while under the influence, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and passing vehicles on the right.

Police also found out that Dominguez, of South Edgewood Road in Trumbull, was the subject of a failure to appear warrant from the Connecticut State Police Troop A.

Dominguez posted a $1,995 bond and was released pending an appearance March 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford for the Darien charges and March 14 in state Superior Court in Waterbury for the state police charge.
