Recent Burglary Blitz Worse Than First Thought

Two homes were entered while residents were there in the recent burglary blitz in which 17 motor vehicles were entered—and both homes had unlocked doors.

Add this to the recent report of 17 motor vehicles, home and garage reported entered in the on Sunday and Monday, June 17-18: Two homes were entered while residents were inside.

As with all the motor vehicles, outside doors of the homes had been left unlocked.

At about 5:30 a.m. Monday, June 18, as a husband was getting ready for work, he heard noises downstairs in the living room of his home on Libby Lane.

Checking further, he found a door to the outside wide open, and one of the family's vehicles had been entered. The residents didn't find anything taken from either their home or the vehicle.

Earlier that morning, at 1:40 a.m., a family dog began barking at a home on Edgewood Road. The dog was directing its attention toward the kitchen, and when a family member checked that room, it was discovered that a rear door was open.

A Gateway laptop valued at $1,300, two Game Boys and a woman's purse containing credit cards were all stolen.
