Silverware, Candlesticks Stolen From Long Neck Point Residence

Several purses valued at $3,000 apiece were also reported missing.

Silverware, candlesticks, and high-end purses are among the items reported stolen from a Long Neck Point Road residence over the weekend, said Monday.

According to Capt. Fred Komm, the homeowner contacted police on Sunday to report that his house had been burgled while he was away.

The owner reportedly left home Friday morning to join his family on vacation and returned home around 5 p.m. Sunday. After about an hour, Komm said, he noticed that a number of items were missing.

Among the stolen items: sterling silverware, silver candlesticks, a candelabra, some cash, and three Chanel purses valued at $3,000 apiece. Komm said that police are awaiting a full inventory.

There were no signs of forced entry to the residence, according to Komm, and the owner told police that he had locked the house before leaving on Friday.
