Blitzer was the finance director at St. Luke’s Parish in Darien. An employee there said Blitzer worked for the parish for four or five years.

Blizter is survived by his wife, Gail Schechtman Blizter, a son, Jeremy, who lives in Massachusetts, and a brother, Josh.

Police said Blitzer was one of 23 patrons in the casino. He would not have faced arrest since only the establishment’s six employees were charged.

Blitzer was buried at the Farband L.Z.A. Cemetery in New Haven.
