Wallet Filched From Right under Her Nose at Darien Restaurant

A 21-year-old woman was dining at a downtown Darien restaurant with friends between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. on May 10 when she put her American Eagle brand wallet on the table.

And when she reached for it — it wasn't there.

The woman, a resident of South Hadley, MA, had never left the table at Bodega Taco Bar, 980 Post Rd., she told police.

The restaurant manager and staff couldn't find the wallet. There was no mention of money in it in the police report. None of the credit cards had been fraudulently used.
