A Night on the Town for a Great Cause

Shop, sip, socialize and support CancerCare! Read on for more on the annual Girls' Night Out event coming soon!

On Thursday March 7th, CancerCare is hosting a fun evening out to support those here in our region coping with cancer. It’s one of the organization’s signature events - Girls’ Night Out. The event will feature a silent auction, wine, hors d'oeuvres from Cinch Market, desserts from Sweet & Simple, and the band DNR will perform throughout the evening.

Regional Director Sandra Tripodi says the evening is about more than just having a fun night out with friends.

“Girls’ Night Out is about the mutual support of women helping women and others facing cancer,” said Tripodi. “Women, who so often support others as caregivers, understand the importance of the services CancerCare provides and everyone who supports the event is providing essential support to those coping with cancer.”

The event, which is being held at Lillian August in Norwalk, will also feature shopping from great local vendors like BulaBula Fashions, The Jewelry Lady, Kimberlin Brown Jewelry, Woolly Back Bags and Benefit Cosmetics. Proceeds will go directly back toward providing free services like workshops and counseling to local families and individuals affected by cancer.

CancerCare Special Events Manager Jennifer Keller says they need still need help from volunteers setting up, helping with the silent auction and cleaning up. She says this isn’t a ladies-only volunteer opportunity either – men are more than welcome!
