The AAII Connecticut Chapter presents Pat Dorsey, CFA

Patrick Dorsey, President of  Sanibel Captiva Investment Advisers,  will be the featured speaker at a dinner meeting of the Connecticut chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors Thursday, September 20 at 8 pm . Dorsey will address the topic, “Investing Rationally in an Irrational World.”  The event will take place at The Waters Edge at Giovanni’s II in Darien.

Dorsey will explain why successful investing is not necessarily dependent upon having more brains, better information, or faster computers. “What separates great investors from the herd is their ability to control the cognitive biases that inhibit rational decision-making,” he says. “Understanding how and when your own mind may be your portfolio’s worst enemy is the first step towards making better financial decisions. “

The author of two books— The Five Rules for Successful Stock Investing and The Little Book that Builds Wealth—Dorsey is a frequent media commentator in Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and Fortune.
