Boys Lacrosse Scores Top Tournament Seed
The Blue Wave will host No. 8 seed Trumbull on Saturday.
As expected, Darien has received the top seed for the FCIAC boys lacrosse playoffs, which begin with quarterfinal games on Saturday.
The Blue Wave (14-2) will play an early game, hosting No. 8 Trumbull (10-5) at 11 a.m.
Other high seeds went to undefeated Staples (16-0), New Canaan (12-3) and defending FCIAC champion Ridgefield (12-4).

Staples hosts No. 7 St. Joseph (11-5) at 2:30 p.m., New Canaan entertains No. 6 Wilton (11-5) at 4 p.m., and Ridgefield welcomes No. 5 Greenwich (8-7) at 1 p.m.
There are two rematches in the first round: Ridgefield vs. Greenwich, which broke for Ridgefield, 16-9, earlier this season; and New Canaan vs. Wilton, which went New Canaan's way, 10-9.

The semifinals and finals are set for McMahon High School in Norwalk on Tuesday and Thursday.
Ridgefield won its first FCIAC lacrosse title last season, edging Darien, 6-5, in the championship game.
Wilton, Darien, and New Canaan have dominated FCIAC lacrosse, combining for 30 titles.
Wilton leads the way with 13, but the Warriors have gone without a title since 1999.
Darien has won 11 FCIAC lacrosse crowns, including nine of the last 13. New Canaan's follows with seven, although the Rams are seeking their first league title since 2003.
