Darien Boys Swim Team Drops Close Meet To Greenwich

The 97-89 loss to the Cardinals on Friday drops the Blue Wave to 6-2

The Darien boys swimming and diving team dropped a 97-89 decision to Greenwich on Friday in a battle of FCIAC powerhouses. Greenwich improved to 8-2 while Darien dropped to 6-2.

Darien's relay team of Chris Janson, Sam Gillespie, James Baker and Tyler Gould took second with a time of 1:42.89. Jack Bair also gave the Blue Wave a win in 200 freestyle (1:47.47).

Darien's Tyler Gould and Baker then finished first in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, respectively, while Lee Christianson and Jackson McGoldrick placed  first and second in the diving to give the Blue Wave a 40-38 lead.

Darien's Connor Tracey won the 100 freestyle before the Blue Wave finished first (Jack Bair) and second in the 500 freestyle  to increase their lead to 68-58.

After Greenwich came back to grab a 91-81 lead, Darien's quartet of Bair, Chris Janson, Baker and Gould captured the 400 freestyle relay in the final event of the meet.
