Nick Bruno had a five-point game Saturday as the Darien High School boys hockey team routed Westhill 8-0 at the Darien Ice Rink.

Bruno scored a hat trick and added two assists for the Blue Wave, who rebounded from last week's 4-0 loss to New Canaan and officially clinched a spot in the FCIAC's tier one playoffs.

Dana Wensberg, Jack Massie, Robert Juterbock, George Gregory and Connor Davis had the other goals for the Blue Wave, who have now won 12 of their last 13 games. The defeat to New Canaan snapped an 11-game winning streak.
