The Darien softball team captured its first-ever FCIAC title Friday with a 4-3 win over Fairfield Ludlowe.

After jumping out to an early 2-0 lead at Fairfield University, the Blue Wave fell behind the Falcons, 3-2, in the third inning. But Darien fought back, adding a run to tie it up in the fifth and notching the winning run in the seventh.

Over at Brien McMahon High School, Darien wasn't as fortunate in the FCIAC girls lacrosse championship, falling to Wilton, 15-12, on Friday.

Patch will have more on Darien's four FCIAC championship matchups shortly.
