State Sen. Bob Duff (D-Norwalk, Darien) and State Sen. Carlo Leone (D-Stamford, Darien) will hold office hours from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7 at Darien Town Hall "to answer questions and discuss statewide and local issues with all interested members the general public." The Brooks Brothers Fashion Show & Luncheon takes place at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Darien Community Association. "Darien Store Manager Annie Sullivan -- mistress of ceremonies for the event -- will also share a shortlist of this year’s hottest trends, tips on dressing for your shape, and special giveaways. At the Avon Theatre in Stamford at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday: on The documentary, Justice Is A Black Woman: The Life And Work Of Constance Baker Motley chronicles the life and work of Motley, "an 'unsung' hero of the civil rights movement. [...] Motley, the only woman attorney at the NAACP Legal Defense And Educational Fund (LDF) during most of the civil rights movement from 1946 to 1964, was the LDF attorney who tried and won most of the important desegregation cases." -- from an event listing on Stamford Patch

"When you are feeling down, it may seem like you are alone in your misery. The reality is, depressive disorders affect approximately 18.8 million American adults. However, due to stigma and other factors, fewer than half of those suffering actually seek help," according to the Screening for Mental Health website.
