What's Open, What's Closed on Veterans Day 2013
Here's what's closed on Veterans Day 2013 and what's open.
Here's the list of what is open and closed in Darien, in Connecticut and in some cases across the United States:
OPEN MONDAY:
- Darien Public Schools
- TDBank in Darien and all other branches.
- New York Stock Exchange is open
- Darien Library is open (Rowayton Library is closed)
- Darien town dump
- Retail stores
- Supermarkets
- Restaurants
- Convenience Stores
- Bars/Taverns/Saloons
- Gyms/Health Clubs
- The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk is open.
CLOSED MONDAY:

- Some banks
- No mail delivery – all U.S post offices are closed (Expresss Mail delivery on Sundays and holidays is available for a small fee)
- Federal offices (that is, should federal employees be called back, they still wouldn't be in on Monday)
- State offices
- Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles closed at 12:30 p.m. Friday and won't open again until 7:45 a.m. Tuesday
- Darien Town Hall and municipal offices (but the town dump is open)
- Darien Nature Center
TRANSPORTATION — NO CHANGES
- CT Transit, which runs Stamford's buses, will operate on a regular schedule (and that includes I-BUS and Commuter Connection services)
- Norwalk Transit will operate on a regular schedule
- No changes have been announced for Metro-North's New Haven Line
